Dear Prospective Festival Sponsors,
The 8th Annual Big Kahuna Wing Festival will be held on the 5th of September, 2021 at Worlds Fair Park in downtown Knoxville. This event will host the park with the Sweet Smell of Hot Wings, Unreserved Participants, and Terrific Music with a Wing Eating Contest, Silent Auction, Kids Corner, and Fun for the Whole Family! Combine this with some of the Best Wing Recipes and Teams and we have one Fantastic Event all to Benefit East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, Empty Stocking Fund, and The University of Tennessee Culinary Program. Proceeds will also be donated to 3E – Empowering Educators Everyday, Fourth Purpose, and Survivor Fitness.
Founded in 2013, the Big Kahuna Wing Festival has raised $400,000 for our charity groups and we are hopeful to make an even bigger impact in 2020.
East Tennessee Children’s Hospital is a 152-bed hospital certified by the state of Tennessee as one of four Comprehensive Regional Pediatric Center in Tennessee and is accredited by the Joint Commission. Because children are special… they deserve the best possible health care given in a positive, family-centered atmosphere of friendliness, cooperation, and support – regardless of race, religion, or ability to pay. Their medical needs are closely related to their emotional and informational needs; therefore, the total child must be considered in treating any illness or injury. Their health care requires family involvement, special understanding, special equipment, and specially trained personnel who recognize that children are not miniature adults. Their health care can best be provided by a facility with a well-trained medical and hospital staff whose only interests and concerns are with the total health and well-being of infants, children, and adolescents.
The mission of the News Sentinel Empty Stocking Fund (ESF) is to provide food and toys to disadvantaged East Tennesseans during the holidays.
The University of Tennessee Culinary & Catering Program is a full-time 12-week, 400-hour course that prepares you to begin an exciting career in restaurants, hotels, catering, food trucks, and more. Since 2013, the UT Culinary & Catering Program has graduated more than 125 students who are now working in various venues including conference centers, convention centers, private and commercial restaurants, and even their own businesses. Four program graduates have even advanced to earn their chef’s certification through the American Culinary Federation (ACF).
Please mark your calendar, September 5th, 2021 and make plans to come listen to fantastic music and eat some of the best Wings from around the South. Our Team of Volunteers at The Big Kahuna Wing Festival hopes to see you at Worlds Fair Park, Downtown Knoxville from 3:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 5th, 2021.
