Dear Prospective Festival Sponsors,

The 11th Annual Big Kahuna Wing Festival will be held on the 1st of September 2024 at World’s Fair Park in Downtown Knoxville. This event will fill the park with the sweet smell of wings, participants, terrific music, wing eating contests, online auction, kids’ corner, and Fun for the whole family! Combine this with some of the best wing recipes and teams, we have one fantastic event all to benefit East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley, and The University of Tennessee Food 4 Vols Program.

Founded in 2013, the Big Kahuna Wing Festival has raised $575,000 for our charity groups and we are hopeful to make an even bigger impact in 2024.

East Tennessee Children’s Hospital is a 152-bed hospital certified by the state of Tennessee as one of four Comprehensive Regional Pediatric Center in Tennessee and is accredited by the Joint Commission. Because children are special… they deserve the best possible health care given in a positive, family-centered atmosphere of friendliness, cooperation, and support – regardless of race, religion, or ability to pay. Their medical needs are closely related to their emotional and informational needs; therefore, the total child must be considered in treating any illness or injury. Their health care requires family involvement, special understanding, special equipment, and specially trained personnel who recognize that children are not miniature adults. Their health care can best be provided by a facility with a well-trained medical and hospital staff whose only interests and concerns are with the total health and well-being of infants, children, and adolescents.

At Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley our mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Our Vision is every child who walks through our doors will be prepared to graduate with a plan for post-secondary education, live a healthy lifestyle, and become a contributing member of our community.

Food 4 Vols The University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s Culinary Institute (located within the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences, Department of Retail, Hospitality and Tourism Management) has created the food4VOLS program to end hunger and waste on campus. Partnering with Vol Dining, food4VOLS collects usable food from campus outlets and transports the food to The University of Tennessee Culinary Institute where the food is transformed by students into ready-to-heat and ready-to-eat meals that are distributed to those with food insecurity through The Big Orange Pantry.

Please mark your calendar, September 1st, 2024 and make plans to come listen to fantastic music and eat some of the best wings from around the South. Our team of volunteers at The Big Kahuna Wing Festival hopes to see you at World’s Fair Park, Downtown Knoxville from 3:00 P.M. to 9:30 P.M. on Sunday, September 1st, 2024.
